All students who enroll in the MS-SLP program are required to complete a civilian and federal background check. Candidates with a criminal record that has not been expunged or sealed are not eligible for enrollment in the MS-SLP program at Trine University. EligibilityĬriminal record –Students will be asked if they have been found guilty of a misdemeanor or felony. The MS-SLP program does not permit testing out of courses or credit by examination.

The MS-SLP program does not accept transfer credits. There are no exceptions to the admission criteria.

#SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY FREE#

These sites include public schools, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and speech and hearing clinics. Should students wish to do their externships outside of the Fort Wayne area, they would work directly with the clinic director for this request. MS-SLP student clinicians will gain practicum and externship experiences at sites in and around Fort Wayne and Allen County.Swallowing assessments will be completed on a case-by-case basis. Hearing screenings are free to the community with an appointment. Services that are provided include evaluations and intervention (therapy) for speech and language impairments.MS-SLP student clinicians are supervised by ASHA certified and Indiana State licensed speech-language pathologists that are also Trine faculty in the MS-SLP Program.The onsite Trine Speech-Language Clinic provides free speech-language evaluation and therapy to members of the community.**American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Indiana Flyer Clinical Practicum: Trine also encourages its MS-SLP students to join the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA). During the clinical practicum experiences, student clinicians will earn the 375 supervised clinical clock hours required for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the national organization for speech-language pathologists and audiologists in the United States.

The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) at Trine University is a five-semester program that prepares students to be part of the profession that evaluates and treats individuals with communication and swallowing impairments.
